Mixed media, A day to remember

I was playing with some spray inks in my journal and put down more than I intended.  I took a piece of water color paper and put it on top and absorbed some of the ink.   I liked how it looked so I drew a face on it. I colored her hair and the remaining background with distress inks and added some collage.  Here is the beginning and finished piece.

  1. She is gorgeous. I love how in your earlier photo she looks slightly surprised to find herself there, but then in the end, she is right at home. Beautiful colors.

  2. Interesting to see the differences in the two- warm and cool... coming from a dream to reality? a mist to the sunshine? Beautiful!

  6. I am a lover of process - I suppose because for me that is primarily why I create - I enjoy getting from start to finishing and seeing and feeling surprises along the way.

In your mixed media art today, I feel the soul of a kindred in both artist and subject. What a great feeling!
