Flowers in my hair

Wow! It's been over two weeks since I've posted!  Life does get in the way. This is just a simple collage done on a gelli print background.  I cut out  a face from a magazine and painted over it and added some collage elements and printed words.  Easy journal page....The little lady circled in white is my mom...many years ago.

Collaged flowers

I tried to paint this picture at a place called, Paint Party Studio, in Mobile Al.  I was  painted with acrylic paints.  I ws not hppy with the results, so, I decided to do a collage instead.  I traced over the images and grabed some scrapbook papers, book pages and gel medium and covered the canvas.  I then rubber stamped some images, painted the background with Studio paints and glued down the flowers.  I then used more paint and the Faber Castell big brush markers to shade and cover the images.   I then did more stamping and added some rub ons.  It's measures 16x20. Here is a before and after photo!

New Art Quilt

I used hand dyed fabrics in this quilt. I took a class in dyeing a few months ago and dyed twenty yards of fabric. Guess it's time to start using some of it.

This is my latest collage piece. I was showing some of my works in progress to a friend and her sister wanted to buy it when it was finished! What a surprise that was!

Self Portrait Collage Challenge

Today I got a call from the owner of my local quilt shop, Alley Kats. To my surprise, I won first place in the self portrait challenge. The small quilts have been on display since the first of February. I am thrilled! I will recieve a $50 gift certificate to the shop! Gotta like that! I learned this technique in an online class on Doll Street from Linda Misa......Thanks again Linda!
