Waiting for the storms to pass!

My hubby and I are visiting family and friends in Mobile, Al. Being from upper Michigan, the spring storms that just past through were quite an experience!  Yikes!  Heavy rain, high winds, thunder, lightening and alarms going off warning you of flash flooding and tornados!  I'm used to snow!
So I did some sketching  while we waited for the storms to pass .   The background on the colored photo was done with alcohol inks before I drew on it.
...Today the sun is shining!!!!

This is what I did in LB 2014 this week.  I did not finish a lesson with Tamara LaPorte on spray inks a few weeks ago, so I decided to used the face I drew for that class in this weeks lesson by Anna Dabrowska...what an amazing class!

Gelli Plate Art Quilt

I do love playing with my gelli plate.  I recently painted  fabric and made  an art quilt.  It may look familiar because i did the same design in paper last year.  I have also made a throw pillow usinging my gelli plate to create the fabric first!

Sunset in the Imaginary Flower Garden!

Yesterday I painted some canvas fabric....I used masking tape to section off some areas, so I could do some color blocking. I had a background that I made a while back, so I thought I would challenge myself and used the painted  tape, that I removed from the fabric, to create some flowers...I had to add a few paper scraps for three of the flowers, because I ran out of tape... and the circles are masks from a gelli plate project!
It was inspired by Carla Sonheim's class on LB2014.  Making it was such fun!

Spring Fling!

It's only January 1 and I am so tired of cold and snow! So, yesterday I decided to make flowers!  My background is Dylusions ink sprays.  My flowers and stems were cut from gelli print papers I have collected.  I was inspired by Traci Bautisca's work!....think spring and stay warm!
